PUBLIC DEFENCE ANNOUNCEMENT: DIPA’s Mathea Loen will defend her PhD degree at the Department of Government, University of Bergen, on June 20, 2025, with the dissertation “Protecting Children, Preserving Trust“. Mathea Loen is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism (DIPA) and the Department of Government, University of Bergen. She holds a Master’s Degree in Comparative Politics from the University of Bergen. Mathea’s research interests include human rights, social norms and networks, public opinion, and public discourse, specifically in relation to children’s rights, child protection and family values in Europe.
