Researcher Hege Stein Helland recently attended the ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research) General Conference in Krakow, held 8 to 11 September 2026 at Jagiellonian University. The conference is organised annually by ECPR and is the largest political science conference in Europe, drawing an estimated 2000 to 3000 participants in recent years.
Helland presented the paper “The Influence of the European Court of Human Rights on the Discretion of Street-Level Bureaucrats” on the panel “Juridification and Accountability in the Welfare Sector”, part of the section “Judicial Politics in an Age of Democratic Contestation”. She co-chaired the panel together with Karin Leijon (Linköping University), and took part in activities organised by the section host, the ECPR Standing Group on Law and Courts.
