DESCRIPTION:Svati P. Shah is an Associate Professor of Women’s\, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst. They are also a research associate in the University of Pretoria’s Department of Anthropology\, Archaeology and Development. Dr. Shah is a social anthropologist who has written extensively on questions of sexuality and political economy in India\, including on questions of sex work and migration\, and queer politics and nationalism. DESCRIPTION:Aaron John Spitzer is an associate professor at the Department of Comparative Politics at UiB. Spitzer received his PhD from the same department in 2020 with the dissertation “The metapolitics of settler-colonialism.”Aaron has two main areas of research. In the first\, he employs comparative methods to study Arctic and Indigenous governance\, especially examining what Sami might learn from\, and contribute to\, Indigenous governance in Canada and the US. DESCRIPTION:Colleen Henry is an Associate Professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College\, City University of New Work. Henry holds a PhD in Social Welfare\, after completing her dissertation in 2014 on Constructing maltreatment: An urban child welfare agency’s response to child exposure to domestic violence. SUMMARY:RDV: Brazil: Deciding in time of crisis (Karina Denari)
DESCRIPTION:Karina Denari is currently a researcher at FGV São Paulo Law School and a guest researcher at the Centre on Law and Social Transformation with a grant from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Brazil (CAPES-PrInt). Her research in LawTransform is part of the FGV Project “Law in the Digital Era” and is entitled “Disasters as Critical Junctures for Judicial Innovation”. She holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of São Paulo\, and a PhD in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro\, where she was awarded a scholarship for a visiting research period at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. \nShe is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer and a legal associate at Pogust Goodhead\, a global law firm focused on human rights litigation and providing access to justice for the victims of wrongdoing by big corporations\, as well as a lecturer and speaker in human rights\, comparative constitutional law and disaster law fields. She is a member professor at the Justice and Constitution Center and at the Study and Extension Group “Access to Justice and Disasters” (FGV São Paulo Law School). DESCRIPTION:Karina Denari is Resarceher at Getulio Vargas Foundation in Sao Paulo (Brazil). She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Rio de Janeiro\, where she is now an Adjunct Professor. Denari is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer\, focusing on disaster law and human rights\, and she has also provided lectures for private and public lawyers\, judges\, and civil society on these issues. SUMMARY:Barnevernfrokost: Netthets av barnevernansatte: funn fra en nasjonal studie i Irland
DESCRIPTION:På fredagens barnevernfrokost presenteres resultater fra en av de første studiene om netthets av barnevernsarbeidere. Tre eksperter fra Irland\, dr. Kenneth Burns\, dr. Fiachra Ó Suilleabháin og Olwen Halvey\, har undersøkt hva som skjer og hvordan dette oppleves og håndteres i det irske barnevernssystemet. \nDette er en av de største studiene som er gjort på netthets på barnevernfeltet. Forskerne har undersøkt erfaringene til de som har opplevd dette\, hvordan det påvirker arbeid og privatliv\, strategier for å beskytte seg (organisatoriske og individuelle)\, og hva som kan gjøres for å regulere dette bedre på ulike nivå. \nBarnevernfrokosten er på engelsk. Det er lagt opp til at spørsmål kan stilles på norsk. \nKenneth Burns er universitetslektor\, PI\, nestleder for Master of Social Work-kurset og direktør for praksis (sosialt arbeid) ved University College Cork. Han har jobbet som vernepleier og sosialfaglig teamleder innen barnevern og velferd\, og har publisert en rekke arbeider om barnevern. \nFiachra Ó Suilleabháin er adjunkt og viseleder for skole (Strategic Data and Communication) ved School of Applied Social Studies\, University College Cork. En faglig kvalifisert\, CORU-registrert sosialarbeider siden 2002\, han underviser i forelesninger om kjønn og seksualitet\, LHBT+-spørsmål\, sosiale tjenester og velferdspraksis\, seksuelle overgrep mot barn\, barnevern og -velferd\, og profesjonell praksis. \nOlwen Halvey er lektor i sosialt arbeid ved School of Applied Social Studies\, University College Cork. Hun er faglig kvalifisert sosialarbeider siden 2000 og har gjennomført videreutdanning i undervisning og læring i høyere utdanning.
