SUMMARY:RDV: Brazil: Deciding in time of crisis (Karina Denari)
DESCRIPTION:Karina Denari is currently a researcher at FGV São Paulo Law School and a guest researcher at the Centre on Law and Social Transformation with a grant from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Brazil (CAPES-PrInt). Her research in LawTransform is part of the FGV Project “Law in the Digital Era” and is entitled “Disasters as Critical Junctures for Judicial Innovation”. She holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of São Paulo\, and a PhD in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro\, where she was awarded a scholarship for a visiting research period at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. \nShe is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer and a legal associate at Pogust Goodhead\, a global law firm focused on human rights litigation and providing access to justice for the victims of wrongdoing by big corporations\, as well as a lecturer and speaker in human rights\, comparative constitutional law and disaster law fields. She is a member professor at the Justice and Constitution Center and at the Study and Extension Group “Access to Justice and Disasters” (FGV São Paulo Law School). DESCRIPTION:Karina Denari is Resarceher at Getulio Vargas Foundation in Sao Paulo (Brazil). She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Rio de Janeiro\, where she is now an Adjunct Professor. Denari is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer\, focusing on disaster law and human rights\, and she has also provided lectures for private and public lawyers\, judges\, and civil society on these issues. DESCRIPTION:Conor O’Mahony is a Professor at the University College Cork (Ireland). Mange barn har ikke fått informasjon om at familien får veiledning\, om hvem som gir veiledning\, hva som gjøres i veiledningen og hvorfor de voksne får veiledning. I rapporten gis det oppsummerte råd fra barna til hvordan voksne kan gi informasjon\, være voksne barn er trygge på og hvordan hjelpe kan bli nyttig. SUMMARY:RDV: Landscapes of adoption in India (Sheila Ramaswamy)
DESCRIPTION:Sheila Ramaswamy has a background in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work and Public Health and is Technical and Operational Lead at SAMVAD (Support\, advocacy & mental health interventions for children in vulnerable circumstances and distress) in India. Her technical areas of work over the years\, include maternal and child health\, nutrition and food security\, water and sanitation\, and child and adolescent mental and psychosocial healthcare. In recent years\, through her work at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences\, she has been engaged in child protection and mental health work\, ranging from designing and initiating community child mental health interventions to policy and advocacy initiatives pertaining to child sexual abuse and juvenile justice laws. DESCRIPTION:Frivillige tjenester basert på samtykke fra foreldre og barn utgjør kjernen av den nordiske barnevernsmodellen. Likevel rettes det ofte kraftig kritikk mot graden av frivillighet: er de nordiske barnevernssystemene i grunn preget av en form for skjult tvang? Basert på en studie med intervjuer av sosialarbeidere\, barn og foreldre\, samt analyse av relevante sakspapirer og lovverk gir Professor Tarja Pösö i dette foredraget et innblikk i graden av frivillighet innenfor det finske barnevernet. DESCRIPTION:Hva tenker barn selv om samvær med sin biologiske familie? Hvor mye får barn være med å bestemme i saker som omhandler dem? I dette foredraget får vi høre erfaringer og råd fra barn\, presentert av proffer i Forandringsfabrikken. Hvor mye og hvordan samvær skal gjennomføres er viktige avgjørelser for barn. Hva sier kunnskapen fra barn og barns rettigheter om hvordan avgjørelsene kan bli riktigst mulig for barna? SUMMARY:RDV: Souverainism\, Populism\, and the Transformation of the European Court of Human Rights (Mikael Rask Madsen)
DESCRIPTION:Mikael Rask Madsen is the Head of the Centre of Excellence for International Courts (iCourts\, University of Copenhagen) and Professor at the Faculty of Law. He holds a PhD in Sociology of Law from École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris\, and has significant teaching experience from having studied and researched at a number of other leading universities\, including Oxford University\, the University of California at Berkeley\, and the University of Strasbourg. Madsen’s research is focused on globalization and the role of legal institutions and professionals in these processes\, including: 1) International courts and their evolutions and challenges\, 2) The role of legal elites in the globalization\, 3) The development of the legal profession\, and 4) Legal knowledge and power. DESCRIPTION:Barneverntjenestens egne betraktninger rundt gjenforeningsmålsettingen \nEtter flere dommer i Den europeiske menneskerettighetsdomstolen de siste årene står barneverntjenesten i Norge overfor flere dilemmaer knyttet til gjenforeningsformålet etter omsorgsovertakelser. Blant annet innebærer dette utfordrende vurderinger knyttet til biologisk families rett til samvær og avveininger mot hensynet til barnets beste. Hvordan reflekterer barneverntjenesten selv over disse dilemmaene og hva påvirker beslutningene som tas?
