SUMMARY:Barnevernfrokost: Standardisering av beslutningsprosessen i barnevernet
DESCRIPTION:På fredagens barnevernfrokost gir Marina Snipsøyr Sletten en presentasjon med tittel: “Standardisering av beslutningsprosessen i barnevernet”. Presentasjonen vil fokusere på resultat fra studie om hvordan bruk av standardiserte kartleggingsverktøy virker inn på beslutningsprosessen i barnevernets undersøkelsesarbeid. Resultatene bygger på feltarbeid som ble utført i to barneverntjenester. På bakgrunn av funnene argumenterer Marina for at bruk av standardiserte verktøy virker inn på barnevernets skjønnsutøvelse som bidrar til en standardisering av beslutning arbeidet og en snever kunnskapsbase. Hun argumenterer også for at bruk av standardiserte verktøy ikke ser ut til å øke barnevernsansatte analytiske kompetanse og løser dermed ikke utfordringene i barnevernet. \n  \nMarina Snipsøyr Sletten jobber som  førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for velferd\, ledelse og organisasjon (Høgskulen i Østfold). Hun har en Ph.D i samfunnsvitenskap fra Universitetet i Stavanger\, og hennes forskningsinteresser er blant annet innen barnevern\, i tillegg til standardisering og digitalisering. Som førsteamanuensis underviser Marina\, gir veiledning og forsker. SUMMARY:RDV: World and Queer Anthropologies and the Question of Legal Reform (Svati Shah)
DESCRIPTION:Svati P. Shah is an Associate Professor of Women’s\, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst. They are also a research associate in the University of Pretoria’s Department of Anthropology\, Archaeology and Development. Dr. Shah is a social anthropologist who has written extensively on questions of sexuality and political economy in India\, including on questions of sex work and migration\, and queer politics and nationalism. DESCRIPTION:Aaron John Spitzer is an associate professor at the Department of Comparative Politics at UiB. Spitzer received his PhD from the same department in 2020 with the dissertation “The metapolitics of settler-colonialism.”Aaron has two main areas of research. In the first\, he employs comparative methods to study Arctic and Indigenous governance\, especially examining what Sami might learn from\, and contribute to\, Indigenous governance in Canada and the US. DESCRIPTION:Namita Wahi is a Senior Fellow at Centre for Policy Research\, where she leads the Land Rights Initiative\, and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Law and Social Transformation in Bergen. SUMMARY:RDV: Brazil: Deciding in time of crisis (Karina Denari)
DESCRIPTION:Karina Denari is currently a researcher at FGV São Paulo Law School and a guest researcher at the Centre on Law and Social Transformation with a grant from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Brazil (CAPES-PrInt). Her research in LawTransform is part of the FGV Project “Law in the Digital Era” and is entitled “Disasters as Critical Junctures for Judicial Innovation”. She holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of São Paulo\, and a PhD in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro\, where she was awarded a scholarship for a visiting research period at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. \nShe is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer and a legal associate at Pogust Goodhead\, a global law firm focused on human rights litigation and providing access to justice for the victims of wrongdoing by big corporations\, as well as a lecturer and speaker in human rights\, comparative constitutional law and disaster law fields. She is a member professor at the Justice and Constitution Center and at the Study and Extension Group “Access to Justice and Disasters” (FGV São Paulo Law School). SUMMARY:Barnevernfrokost: "Må hjelpe for oss" (Forandringsfabrikken)
DESCRIPTION:I en av de aller første undersøkelsene til dags dato om barns erfaring med familieveiledning som hjelpetiltak\, viser rapporten «Må hjelpe for oss» at barn ofte ikke er involvert. Mange barn har ikke fått informasjon om at familien får veiledning\, om hvem som gir veiledning\, hva som gjøres i veiledningen og hvorfor de voksne får veiledning. I rapporten gis det oppsummerte råd fra barna til hvordan voksne kan gi informasjon\, være voksne barn er trygge på og hvordan hjelpe kan bli nyttig. DESCRIPTION:Staffan Kumlin holds a position as Professor at the Department of Political Science (University of Oslo). Kumlin’s research concerns comparative political behaviour\, public opinion\, and democracy in European welfare states. He is the author of the book titled The Personal and the Political: How Personal Welfare State Experiences Affect Political Trust and Ideology (2004) and co-editor of How Welfare States Shape the Democratic Public: Policy Feedback\, Participation\, Voting\, and Attitudes (2014). He has authored and edited numerous books\, including one on the history of the Norwegian Supreme Court\, as well as several articles and book chapters\, such as a chapter on the history of Nordic legal culture and court culture in the 2021 Springer book\, Rethinking Nordic Courts. Professor Sunde has been dedicated to dissemination. SUMMARY:RDV: Rethinking domestic abuse in child protection (Brid Featherstone)
DESCRIPTION:Brid Featherstone is Professor of Social Work at the University of Huddersfield (England) and Associate Director of the Just Futures Centre\, a centre of excellence for research that seeks to address contemporary social problems affecting children\, young people\, families\, and communities. She worked in the field of social work from 1982-1992 and has since been involved in social work education and research at several universities. Professor Featherstone is internationally recognized in the areas of gender\, fathers\, and child protection and an awarded researcher. SUMMARY:RDV: Judicial Politics in the European Court of Human Rights (Øyvind Stiansen)
DESCRIPTION:Øyvind Stiansen is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Oslo. His research interests include judicial politics\, the appointment of judges\, judicial impact\, compliance with judicial decisions\, and applied quantitative methods. He is also interested in the European Court of Human Rights and international courts and tribunals\, and has researched judges’ career incentives and ideology\, and how judge behavior is affected by changes in the political context.
