DIPA Researchers Participated in EuSARF 2025 in Zagreb

We are pleased to announce that Professor Marit Skivenes, Jill Duerr Berrick, and Predoctoral Fellow Zacky Dhaffa Pratama have recently participated in the European Scientific Association on Residential and Family Care for Children and Adolescents (EUSARF) 2025 Conference in Zagreb, Croatia. The congress was held from 10 to 12 September 2025, with the theme of “Transformation, Transition and Innovation in Child Welfare”.

Researchers from DIPA presented in a 1-hour and 30-minute-long panel titled “International perspectives on children’s care“. Each presented a working or recently published paper. Professor Marit presented on “Public Confidence in Courts: A Cross-National Study of Public Support“, a study that examines public opinions from 41 countries and explores the drivers behind public confidence in family court judges, which are courts that are determinental to child and family life. Meanwhile, Professor Jill presented on the “Visibility of child protection in national constitutions“, in which the study analyses constitutional texts from 193 countries to examine whether children’s right to protection from abuse and neglect is constitutionalised across the world in the first place, and how it is included. Lastly, Zacky presented on “Childhood Obesity, Child Protection, and Government Responsibility“, where the study also uses population study on 41 countries samples to understand how public sees childhood obesity, as in whether it is considered as a government responsibility or private matters, and whether also sees them as child protection issues, and while also exploring the drivers that can be associated to those views.

We are thankful for the opportunity to participate in one of the leading conferences in the child and family welfare field and to enjoy the hospitality of Zagreb.
