DIPA Researchers Participated in 2025 IPSA World Congress of Political Science in Seoul

We are pleased to announce that Professor Marit Skivenes, Jill Duerr Berrick, Post-Doc Dr. Hege Helland, and Dr. Mathea Loen have recently participated in the 2025 IPSA World Congress of Political Science, located in Seoul, South Korea. The congress was held from 12 to 16 July 2025, with the theme of “Resisting Autocratization in Polarized Societies“. This year’s congress, which was marked as the 28th congress across IPSA’s 76-year history, was joined by 3,370 participants from more than 95 countries. This resulted in the congress featuring 3,053 papers, 776 panels, four plenary sessions, and six award sessions.

Researchers from DIPA presented in a 1-hour and 45-minute-long panel titled “Children’s Rights as Human Rights: Examining the Links between Children and International Human Rights in a Global Context“, which was under the Comparative Public Policy track. The researchers presented six papers across DIPA research projects.  Papers including content analysis of 193 national constitutions related to the children’s visibility, analysis of the European Court of Human Rights judgements regarding child protection from 1959 to 2022, original survey data analysis with adult samples from 60 countries, etc.

We are thankful for the opportunity that the IPSA World Congress organisers have given us to present our research findings in this monumental congress in Political Science.
